LAN LEADERS AND ADVISORS

Loudoun Allergy Network (LAN) is run entirely by volunteers. Our director work closely together to run the group successfully. Additionally, we work with an advisory board to be sure that accurate and up-to-date information is disseminated.

Chairperson

Thanita Glancey
Thanita Glancey joined LAN in the Spring of 2009 and by 2010 became co-chair, assisting with the daily operations. In the Spring of 2011, she accepted the Leadership position. Thanita is a member of the LAN School Action Group and served on the Food Allergy Research & Education (formerly FAAN) Leadership Council as well as the Support Group Advisory Council. Thanita was also a member of the Loudoun County Public School's Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) and was asked to sit on the SEAC Child Study/Child Find/504 Subcommittee in the 2011-2012 school year. Thanita was invited to be part of the SEAC Inclusive Practices subcommittee for the 2012-2013 school year.

Thanita is a nationally recognized advocate for individuals with food allergies. She has received several  received accolades and acknowledgments. Most notable are the Certification of Recognition for Excellence in Special Education Subsequently, where she received this in 2011  for dedication and lasting contributions to students with disabilities. A year later, Thanita was awarded the prestigious Mariel C. Furlong Award for Making a Difference. 

Medical Advisory Board


Dr. Courtney Jackson Blair
Dr. Courtney Jackson Blair is an allergist/immunologist in Northern Virginia and is very pleased to be assisting the Loudoun Allergy Network. She joined Allergy and Asthma Associates, P.C. in September 2008 and practices in McLean and Sterling, VA. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Oregon Health and Sciences University and completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She then completed a comprehensive Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Rush University Medical Center, during which time she was given the Pillsbury Fellowship Award. Dr. Blair is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Greater Washington Area Allergy and Immunology Society, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and the Joint Council of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. She has presented at the AAAAI meetings and is a member of the AAAAI's New Allergist / Immunologist Assembly, the Asthma Diagnosis and Treatment Interest Section and the Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis, Dermatology and Drug Allergy Interest Section. She recently was featured on the Discovery Channel's Continuing Medical Education series on Anaphylaxis. Dr. Blair has extensive personal and professional experiences with food allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis and urticaria. She is originally from Washington, DC and is the mother of two small children.
