Yesterday, Governor Bob McDonnell signed a proposed proclamation proclaiming May 9-15 as Food Allergy Awareness Week in the Commonwealth of Virginia. FAAN made it extremely easy to request this proclamation, offering an online request form. Encouraged, LAN members followed up by calling the Governor's office requesting the status of their request for proclamation.
_FAAN has posted an easy online form asking states to proclaim May 9-15 Food Allergy Awareness Week in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of today, only 13 states have adopted this proclamation; Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin. With the push of several LAN members and concerned citizens, the status of proclamation in Virginia has gone from "not adopted" to "in the works".
