Loudoun Allergy Network (LAN) was recently contacted by the Richmond Food Allergy Support Group (RFASG) in an effort to bring legislation to Virginia school districts to stock non-student specific Epipens.  Several RFASG family wrote to their legislators after the tragic death of 7 year old Amarria Johnson, due to a food allergic reaction.  We are happy to announce that their actions resulted in the Virginia bill HB1156 being introduced and referred to the Education Committee... http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?121+ful+HB1156
Now we, as Virginians, can pull together for that final push.  Contact your legislator and request that they sponsor this very important bill.  Find your legislator here: http://conview.state.va.us/whosmy.nsf/main?openform.  Call them and write them.

RFASG has requested that we also contact the Education Committee for more of a push.  It will show them the importance of this bill if we all work together and flood their office with letters/emails.  Legislators on the Education Committee can be found at http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?121+com+H09.  We can work together to get this passed in Virginia!

A similar bill has been introduced in the Virginia Senate.  It is SB 656.  It has been introduced in the Virginia Senate Education and Health Committee!  http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?ses=121&typ=bil&val=SB656&Submit2=Go
